case sensitivity; even in tests ?!

I have no particular preference whether identifiers should be case 
sensitive, but I'm not amused that

put "a" is "A"

gives "true". Is there a test for case sensitive equality? Other than 
through chartonum ?

Efficiency is not that important in this application so I can take 
that tiny hit, but it's not really elegant.
