Standalone fails to launch an external app

Another issue with the standalone is that I cannot launch an external 
application from within my standalone. In the development environment 
everything works just fine. But the minute I build a standalone and try 
to launch the other application from within it, I get no reaction at 
all.

What am I missing here?
