The difference in upgrade frequencies should work to your favor in 
purchasing Studio+Express, although I can see the hassle in keeping 
track. I'll bet that Heather will be happy to remind you when you need 
to give her more money, though ;-)

re: final compiles: it shouldn't matter, at least as far as the result. 
It should be byte-for-byte the same regardless of which platform you 
build on.
