There is also an overview (from the Runrev people before they were Runrev) of the metacard engine:

I would also recommend buying a copy of Dan Winkler et al "Hypertalk 2.2 - the Book".  Until some of the forthcoming Revolution books appear, it is a good source of information on the language.
