Tabbed Buttons: how are they working???

Hello!
I have a basic question (it's usual for me:-))
I don't understand the philosophy of a tabbed button.
How to put objects in tab?
And one more time, this list is the only one solution for me. I'm unable to
find how work the tabbed button on the documentation.
