Yes, and thank you to all who have kindly responded.  I am still sifting
through all the replies so that I may make a case to my instructors, who
by now have no doubt decided that I am one of those evil, technie-types
for stating that the web is not the ultimate computing experience/solution
delivery and that there are differences between developing for the
desktop and developing online...
