I have to agree with Wolfgang here. The future is not
in _replacing_ existing technologies, it's about
getting all the parts to _collaborate_ -- yes, the
buzword _integrate_ is out the door as well ;-)

All in all, there's a place for web apps and a place
for standalone apps: e.g. i'd hate to wait for a
reload of a webpage when i'm scanning the barcode of a
product at a cash register.

Does that mean web apps are of no use in a business
environment? Not at all, they have a great place in
reporting and giving outside limited access, it just
won't work for day-to-day appliances where every
second counts.
