ameliorate means better
your script indeed doesn't work on my mac but your theory is correct;
If I write "set the typefile to "8BIMJPEG" it works fine
I'll work on it further

I want to thank you very much for your help in this big problem on mac.
Without you I surely wouldn' have found any solution
