debugging

Most of the time I feel like I'm debugging blindfolded.  Sometimes the debugger is helpful, but sometimes I have trouble with it hanging (or maybe just taking way too long to execute something like sort cards).

Anyway, right now I'm having problems because (I assume) one of my scripts the in message path is catching a system message, and I need to change that code so the message is passed.  Is there a way to query Revolution about where a message is getting trapped?
