You can find this stuff all over the web. If you know a little JavaScript
you can convert the code from

to Transcript. I agree that julian dates are more accurate..as it works
for all dates, but to get the correct julian day you need to convert
local time to universal time..which requires the longitude of the current
location...and then you need to adjust for daylight savings time:-)
