Revised Font Chooser and Preferences stacks

Tariel has rightfully demanded that I get off my butt and post the last 
MC IDE build.  He's right -- it's way overdue.

To wrap it up I was going to fold in these two changes from Jacque -- 
any reason why I shouldn't?
