Actually, Hugh, you *can* make a mainstack benefit from another stack's
externals - start using that stack as a library. I do that for a program for
one of my clients: We need to connect to a Valentina database, but it could
either be a server one or a standalone one (both are different externals). I
have two stacks that contain the externals, and based on the the choice made
by the user at login, I "start using" the appropriate stack.
