Okay, I see now. I shouldn't have answered before I looked at the stack. 
I think you were right the first time, and it should just go ahead and 
create the folder.

That's not to say we shouldn't have documentation on the feature anyway. 
Not to mention, agreeing with you is way easier than volunteering to be 
Doc Poohbahess. ;)
