Compacting stacks?

I am considering porting my Metacard stack over to Revolution & got a 
suggestion from one of the support reps at Metacard that I needed to 
compact the stack to try to solve the problem I've had with the search 
function in Revolution not working on the formerly-Metacard stack. I 
don't see any option in Metacard to do that and I've tried using 
"compact stack 'x'" in the message window, which doesn't seem to do 
anything. Am I missing something?
