No return from "post" on Linux? A bug?

Could it be the "shell" call waiting for an answer?
I know I have to wait for the info to return from the shell to be able to
continue using MC on NT...

Suggestions: 
- send the shell on idle or 
- have an agent app detect a shellfile (file with shell commands to be sent
by  the agent... Return the result to another file and have your app pick it
up...

I don't know if that's will be ok now but i didn't have the problem for
my own (mc 2.32 linux and linuxppc).
