Find with cgi

Did someone here say once that they could get the "find" command to work 
in a cgi? I have never been able to do it. This syntax doesn't work:

put <path to stack on server> into theStack
start using stack theStack
set the defaultstack to theStack
find "foo"

If my vague recollection is correct that someone made it work once, what 
syntax does the trick?
