destroyStack, alwaysBuffer, and referenced images

What happens to the memory-resident copy of a referenced image when:
- destroyStack = true
- alwaysBuffer = true
- a referenced (not imported) image is displayed in a stack window
- you close the stack

I really have two questions regarding the above:

1) Does the mem-resident copy of the image go away with the 'destroyed' stack?

2) Is the outcome any different if destroyWindow = true?

TIA,
Phil Davis
