Absolute paths for Quicktime movies?

Apparently, unlike to referencing images and sounds, you still cannot
use relative paths with Quicktime movies.

I looked into the list archives and found some discussion about this.

Is this a feature of Quicktime you cannot get around or is it not yet
implemented in Metacard to use relative paths with Quicktime?

It is not easy - and hardly plausible - when you have to show to
beginners of Metacard how to get the effective filename of the stack,
set itemdelimiters, delete an item and finally compose the necessary
absolute file path to show a quicktime movie.
