script-problem in Linux

Halo MC-Linux-experts,

Linux is driving me crazy! The script:

repeat for each line l in it
if a = 2 and bh = schrift and "	" is not in l then next repeat
...
end repeat

will Linux not accept, on the Mac it works.

The Script Error stack put the cursor before the "if"-line and explains:

Script missing '"' after literal
Handler: bad character between handlers

deleting the "#" in that line does not help, putting the elements in
paranthesis () neither. The script is not accepted.

Any hints will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Christoph.
